What we do

The practice specialises in simple house extensions; full house refurbishments; house remodelling; new houses; multiple housing sites for house builders or developers; hotels; restaurants; pubs; retail units; offices; industrial units; and cultural buildings.

In 2012 we completed 2 large commercial projects involving the alteration and extension to Grade 1 Listed buildings (Grade A Scotland). We also completed projects involving Grade 2* and Grade 2 listed buildings.

We work in The Greenbelt; the Open Countryside; in Conservation areas: at World Heritage Sites: in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty; and in  National Parks.

Where we work

The majority of our work is in Yorkshire, in and around Leeds, Harrogate, Ilkley, Skipton, Wetherby and York. However our portfolio extends from as far south as Dorset and London to as far north as Glasgow and Edinburgh.

What we charge

We will meet you at your property to chat through ideas for your project. We do not charge for this service. We will then provide you with a written quotation for taking the project further.

'What we do' as architects falls roughly into 4 stages:

The first is up to the submission of a valid planning application (or equivalent if your proposals fall under Permitted Development Rights planning legislation)

The second is up to the submission of a building regulations application (making sure your project stands up; keeps the heat in; keeps the rain out etc)

The third is preparing construction drawings and other documents in sufficient detail to allow builders to competatively price the construction of your project; and then to allow the successful builder to go on and build it.

The fourth and final stage is to assist you during the construction of your project.

We use the standard RIBA appointments; and these allow you to appoint us for all or any one of the 4 stages described above. They also give you the right to terminate the appointment at any stage (with reasonable notice of course).
