In 2009 Horsley Townsend Architects obtained planning consent for a substantial 2000 sq ft extension to a prominent and historic farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales National Park; in an elevated position above Wensleydale. Consent was obtained following an extensive pre application inquiry and dialogue with the Nation Parks Authority.
The property will incorporate ground source heating and photo voltaic cell electricity generation.
The project contrasts traditional materials typical of Yorkshire Dales dwellings with modern materials and detailing.
