Talbot Hotel

Substantial refurbishment and extension to a Grade 1 Listed property.

The Talbot Hotel is a building of National Importance and comprises a range of 10 buildings; the earliest of which dates back to the 16th Century and many pre date 1700. It is reputed to incorporate the staircase from Fotheringay Castle; down which Mary Queen of Scott’s was lead to her execution.

The project includes substantial remodelling, refurbishment, demolition and extension work; and has involved considerable dialogue with English Heritage and other interested bodies. The project dovetails the commercial requirements of the food and beverage areas with sound conservation principles.

The project is due to commence on site in the autumn of 2011.
