Architects Skipton

Who we are

At Horsley Townsend Architects we are professional architects with a wide range of experience of working on diverse projects in Skipton and surrounding areas.  From stunning contemporary new builds, through to the sympathetic remodelling of Grade 1 and Grade 2 listed buildings, we bring a new perspective to all of our projects.

With expertise across a range of areas, as one of the leading architects in Skipton, our projects have included residential extensions, refurbishments and remodelling, new build projects – including multiple new builds – along with commercial, industrial and retail developments.

The locations of the projects we’ve worked on in Skipton are as diverse as the projects themselves: from work in residential areas, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, our work has taken us throughout Yorkshire.

Although most of our clients are based in Yorkshire, our wide-ranging portfolio also includes projects in London, the south of England, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We know that our clients want to work with technically skilled, professional and imaginative architects; Skipton clients can relax in the knowledge that we’ll bring not only our expertise but a fresh approach to their project – no matter how small.

Our approach

Our bespoke service has been developed over many years and is designed to suit the individual aspirations of every client.

We begin each project with a free, no-obligation meeting as this is the best way for us to begin building a picture of how you visualise your project, ensuring that the end result works for you.

We divide the way we work into four approximate ‘stages’, the first being the submission of a planning application.  This can then be followed by the submission of a building regulations application – an essential requirement if your project is to stand the test of time.

The third stage is the preparation of detailed drawings and documents; these can be used to help you find a suitable builder for your project and once you’ve appointed a builder, the plans can be used to allow them to carry out the building work.

The last stage is for us to offer you the benefit of our assistance during the actual construction phase.  These four stages are the standard RIBA appointments and as a RIBA Chartered architects practice, we offer the clients the flexibility to appoint us for some or all of the four stages.
